Are we really creating anything?

Stimulus exposure conditions a human mind. What you experience is what you are ...every reaction is based on past experiences. The mind is adding newer experiences in the open ended database of the grey matter. The software of human learning takes shape of whatever is it poured into. It is ever growing and always exploring.

If this understanding is true, what is the role of designers? Are we really catering to the needs of human mind? Is it a shot in the dark? Are we creating logical designs? How are we creating user centered experiences? Are we really creating anything?

  1. Every human being has is a complex mix of memories.. of good, bad and ugly.At any given time when happiness / sadness is expressed thoroughly the rest of it is memory. So it really depends on what produces that stimulus. Also inspite of the mixbag of reactions in every mind, each of us have a innate unique nature. There is no formula to understand this nature. The role of designer here is to deeply observe the different stimulus and identify the true nature inspite of the various stimulus and then create the application which is in sync with true nature of the target audiance. So idealy 90% of work lies in understanding and then creation just happens.
